The requirement for the detection of harmful gases in confined spaces is that the multi gas detector must be detected in advance. Before personnel enter, the components of gas in the confined space must be detected remotely. The test is carried out in the following order:
1. Determination of oxygen and current oxygen detection;
2. Determination of flammable gas and detection of flammable gas changes;
3. Confirm the toxic gas and check whether the concentration of the toxic gas is below the allowable exposure limit specified by OSHA. In enclosed spaces, the usual toxic gases are H2S and CO. Other toxic compounds are not among them.
It is very important to sample and detect the concentration of various gases or vapors at the top, middle and bottom of the enclosed space. Some gases are lighter than air (like methane gas and flammable gases)-they can be collected in the upper part of a closed space. Some gases are more than air, they can be found at the bottom of a closed space. Other gases are almost as heavy as air. They can be detected in the middle of the enclosed space.
The gas detector pointed out that sampling at different heights in the enclosed space, according to the actual situation of continuous detection by the detector, we will find that the detection results are different.
In short, we should also pay attention to methods when detecting enclosed spaces. Multifunctional gas detectors must be used to perform relevant tests in enclosed spaces. Only after relevant tests can the working environment be guaranteed.
